Katherine & Chris | Crystal Cove Beach Engagement Session

Some engagement sessions feel less like a photoshoot and more like an evening spent together—and that's exactly what Katherine and Chris's session at Crystal Cove Beach felt like.

From the moment we stepped onto the sand, everything felt easy. No pressure, no stiff poses, just two people enjoying the coastline and each other's company.

Crystal Cove provided the perfect backdrop for their session. We explored the rocky shoreline, walked along the water's edge, and took advantage of the incredible variety the location has to offer. One moment we were standing on the beach with waves crashing behind us, and the next we were surrounded by coastal trails, wildflowers, and sweeping ocean views.

What I loved most about photographing Katherine and Chris was how naturally they interacted with each other. Whether they were laughing while walking through the sand, sharing a quiet moment on the rocks, or watching the sunset over the water, their connection never felt forced. Every photo reflected who they are together.

As the evening continued, the light became softer and the beach became quieter. The golden tones along the shoreline gave way to a dreamy coastal glow that made the final moments of the session feel almost cinematic. Some of my favorite images came during this time, when the focus wasn't on posing but simply letting them enjoy the moment.

Crystal Cove is one of my favorite locations for engagement sessions because it offers so much variety while still feeling peaceful and natural. Between the ocean, cliffs, trails, and open landscapes, it creates the perfect setting for telling a couple's story without distracting from it.

Katherine and Chris, thank you for trusting me to capture this exciting season in your lives. It was such a pleasure spending the evening with you both, and I'm honored to document these memories as you prepare for the next chapter together.
